LYDIA MUNCH
This little gal has enjoyed the summer. She is so very excited to start school! One of her favorite things to do is play pretend school. She will gather almost anything around the house (soap bottles, stuffed animals, babies, yarn balls) to be her fellow classmates and she sits them all up in the living room and they sit and listen to the pretend teacher and she raises her hand and makes up answers to pretend questions (I observe discretely from another room...and snicker under my breath). Then she takes turns going up to the front and talking in front of the class (this part resembles a Fast and Testimony meeting).
Lydia has learned her letters through E now. We've done lots of fun crafts and activities, colored with sidewalk chalk, sprinkler trampolined, swam, and walked and tricycled, and now we are more than ready for some cooler weather!!
She has recently discovered how to whistle and how to snap her fingers! Is it just me, or is three quite young to learn both of these things!? She whistles all over the place though now, and so you can hear her wherever she goes...as if she every had any trouble making herself known already (Ms. Hum, sing, or shout wherever she goes...)!
Dress Up:
She got this new dress from our neighbor, Lilly. Lydia gets lucky and inherits a lot of things from Lilly. She actually had a fit with this dress though because the straps were ribbon like instead of a tank top or sleeves. But she like it enough to want her picture taken in it.
Piano:

She is really loving playing the piano. She is very good too! She can plays most of "I Am a Child of God", she hasn't got to the chorus part yet. Even when she is just playing around, it sounds very good! Most kids will just pound and it just sounds loud and obnoxious, but Lydia has an ear for music and she plays really well. |
GRANDMA AND GRANDPA'S GIRL
Lydia loves Grandma and Grandpa. It has been so very nice being here with them. |
Lydia and Gabriel are becoming better and better friends. I think it is funny that Lydia rarely calls Gabriel Gabe, even when other people do. She always calls him Gabriel. They are opposites in many ways, one way is that Lydia has absolutely no problem eating her food and Gabriel has every problem eating his food. This picture was taken one Sunday at dinner. Gabe was ready to go play after "eating" his food, and Lydia was still finishing up. He came over and was teasing her, making this silly face and saying, "You ALWAYS eat your fooood." |
Miles is, like I keep saying, a blessing baby. Not many things upset him and he is very easy going and lovable. He sleeps with his feet straight in the air. He likes to hold onto something while falling asleep (a blanket, the crib bars, a stuffed animal, my hands, his own feet, etc.). He has learned how to put the binky back in his own mouth now, which is very nice. He still loses it every once in a while and you gotta go in and find it for him, but that's not too bad. It seems as though he likes eating food more than drinking from a bottle. Lydia was not this way, she loved her bottles. He likes drumming things with his hands now and has reached the age of "clear everything off the table in front of him, or around him or deal with big messes".
He often reaches out and holds the crib bars while falling asleep. I love his little hands. |
He's a snuggler. He like cuddling up and holding things close when he's tired. |
He loves his sister. He loves her loud playful ways! |
He's getting stronger. He is not too fond of playing "up and down", but "I'm gonna getcha" is a favorite. |
Two very silly goofballs. |
Loves the toes. Gotta be his favorite toy right now. |
