It looks as though she is in agony, but really one of her favorite things to do is give kisses!
We have so much fun celebrating the New Year with my Dad's sisters usually every year. We just talk and laugh and play games until midnight. When midnight rolls in, we just make noise and cheers and laugh at each other because we each look so goofy just playing and being silly like we were kids again. This year Lydia woke up just before midnight so we saw no reason to put her back to bed just to have her be awakened again to all the noise we were about to make so she got to join in on the festivities. She was not too thrilled at first, but as soon as she realized that Mommy was smiling and cheering rather than screaming and yelling, she caught on and thought it was pretty fun. The rest of the night, however, was quite rough with her to say the least. We went to Aunt Karen's house to stay the night and she was just a rotten little stinker just about the whole night! I was so close to letting her take a breather outside!
We had a fun morning just relaxing and watching movies with Aunt Karen and then took Chris to work and spent the rest of the evening at home.
We are looking forward to what this new year may bring for our family! We will still find ourselves in school at the end of this year as well, but we will be closer to who we want to become and I have made it a goal of mine to be more optimistic and hopeful. It is going to be a great year! Becky will be returning home. Nicolette is going to be having a baby. Jenny is going to be having a baby. Lydia will be done with her "terrible" two's by the end of the year...hopefully :) This fact may make for a challenging year in and of itself, but the joys of her smile are irresistible.
