Christopher My Christopher.

It's 27!!!

It was Chris's birthday this month and we have been celebrating kind of in pieces throughout the month. I kind of want to celebrate his half birthday instead just since I am so scatter brained in January.

I had planned to find a really great place to go tubing for his birthday, however, Lydia graciously gifted us with a night of throw up and NO SLEEP. We decided to try and make a party out of it by blowing up the air mattress and having a family "slumber party" out in the living room. It was memorable, but not exactly the kind of party that I had in mind for Chris's birthday. I gave Chris his present as soon as I woke up. I made him an apron (try #2...) and got him the Bourne trilogy and tickets to go see Guster (one of Chris's favorite bands). We got started late, it was a very cold day, needless to say, we decided not to go sledding. So we went bowling instead. Lydia showed no sign of feeling ill and so we decided that it would be ok. It was a lot of fun. It seems like we often go bowling for Chris's birthday. I figured it's because, one: we don't get to go any other time, and two: it's always so cold on his birthday that that just seems like a fun thing to do!

Daddy helpin his girl bowl for the first time.

We decided to change it up for the second game and play starburst bowling.
RED=opponent's choice
YELLOW=Lydia gets to help
PINK=eyes closed
ORANGE=left handed

Love that view! YES!

I just thought this was a funny picture of Lydia!

We then tried out a new restaurant, Ruby River, with some gift cards we got from the Mortuary for Christmas. It was really good, except Lydia was just a handful the entire time! Our nerves were had by the time the night was through.

The next day was a bit sunnier and so we went tubing then. It was the best planning we could do with school stating that week, but it happened to fall right at Lydia's nap time so she was not exactly thrilled the whole time. So we went down a couple of times and called it good. I think we all did have some fun however. Lydia went down a few times reluctantly, she did cheer at the bottom each time (although it was more likely to have been a pity cheer just to make Mom and Dad happy...)
Love this picture. We're off for fun in snow!

I do want to write just little something about the sweet man that I am privileged to have as my husband. I often ponder at the miracle that it still is to me that we fell in love so quickly and have had such a growing love for each other ever since! (That isn't to say that we haven't had disagreements, because we have, but we grow though them.) This man has taught me so much and I just want him to know how truly grateful I am to have him as a part of my life. He supports me in all that I do (except when I insist we do the dishes before we go to bed...) I love him and I hope that this year brings him confidence to follow what he believes to be right for him.

hey. you're the man!
