We're trying out a little bed for Lydia. My brother let us borrow theirs for a little while so we could see how it goes. She is doing pretty well for the most part. The picture above was taken on her first night in her bed. She fell out twice times! Didn't cry at all though, it was kind of funny. The first time Chris and I were watching a movie and heard a big thud. It took us forever to figure out that it might have been Lydia. She didn't cry out or say anything! We opened her door and she just came walking toward us with the most confused look on her face. Poor thing.
The next time was right before we got in bed. I heard the thud and opened the door to her room to find her still laying on the floor! As soon as she saw the light, she sat up and grunted, almost like a question, "ow." It was so cute! She is certainly precious. Since then she hasn't fallen out once and she sleeps really well for the most part. She'll wake up every now and then, but she doesn't open her door (which we shut as best we can). She just stands at her door an knocks on it, says, "hello?" a couple times and then waits or walks around her room and plays until we come in and get her!
Her naps, however, are not going over very well with the bed. She usually is really good about laying down for her naps, she even asks for them when she knows she's tired! But with the bed, she lays down for a couple of minutes and then gets distracted and walks around her room reading books, or dancing (she turns her music on). I can't decide whether to sacrifice well needed sleep time and let her just play in her room until she finally decides to fall asleep, or to move her back into her crib, where she falls asleep within minutes! I conflict with myself every day. One day I decided to just let her play and this is what I found after several minutes of quietness:
