We were lucky to get to go to the Hogle Zoo with our friends Monday morning. Shaylie and Lydia get along so well and they are just adorable to watch!
We got up early and left because Chris had to be to work at two and Zack, Shaylie's dad had to be to work at three. We got there just as it was opening and it was perfect. Wasn't crowded, was cool, the kids did seem a little tired to me, especially Lydia, but they weren't grumpy. We had a great time! So fun.
Here are some pictures of our experience at the zoo.

We're ready for a fun time at the zoo.
She thought this ball was pretty neat. Shaylie wouldn't touch it.
Lydia wasn't too sure about the noises coming out of this thing.
Like mother like daughter.
Lydia making the noise that an elephant makes.
I think he could use some lotion.
Rhino, rhino, who's got a rhino!?
This monkey was hilarious! It sang almost all morning!
They match! Lydia and Shaylie's hair was even the same! We didn't plan that.
Chris and Lia by the Baboons.
I really like this picture.
I can't remember what she was saying here. I think it may have been, "Giiiiraffe."
What funny looking birds.
I just love the giraffes. I think they are such pretty animals.
Check out this dude's tongue! eww.

It was cool to see them close up. These are twin cubs I think.
The tigers were right up against the window getting a drink. That was pretty fun.
She's pretty. Or he...but the fact that it's pretty probably means it's a girl... :)
The wolves. The gray one took off with a dead animal in his mouth! It was pretty gross.
Lookin at the porcupines...
He reached up and touched the ceiling just after this...too bad he's not spider monkey....he'd do more than just
touch the ceiling....

I'm always afraid of getting pooped on in this room.

Shaylie and Amanda rode the Snow Leopard.
Daddy rode on the monkey next to her. She was on the lion.
Does she looks a little nervous? She was. I thought she'd have little more fun on that thing.
The dad's and their girls. They pushed the strollers most of the day. Thanks boys!
Daddy and his girl. They are just too cute.
This had to be one of the favorites at the whole zoo! A little cave that they could run free in and push buttons! They had such a great time in there. Laughing and screaming with each other.
Peek!
Ready. Set. Go! (Lydia has really caught on to this game and loves it!)
You're up and then you're down.
Yes, Lydia. That is the face that the prairie dog makes....?
Cute girls.....and Chris. :)
Bennett's on the train. Oh yah!
Lydia clapping on our train ride.
Zack and Amanda took us to Winger's for lunch! It was YUMMY!! The girls were OUT before we left the zoo parking lot!
But it didn't last long. They wanted in on the good food!
We had a GREAT day together! We are so grateful for good neighbor's and friends and we are glad that we got to share this time with them too.

fun! I have been wanting to take Peyton to the St. Louis zoo forever! Everytime we have an open day something comes up or it is supposed to rain! Hopefully we can make it there soon! Lydias hair is so cute!
