Lydia enjoyed her first birthday this past sunday! It was so much fun to watch her excitement and to be a part of her life. We love this girl to pieces and can barely grasp the fact that she will never stop growing and changing.
We had so much family here to celebrate with her and to make her feel so special. I realized what a blessing it was that we had a girl on the 14th of February rather than a boy as I shopped for fun things for her party and everything was so fittingly pink and red and beautifully girly!
Dear Little Lydia,
This past year has been one of the biggest in your life and you won't even remember most of it! You've received many many shots! Been to the doctor over 10 times. Doubled in size (almost tripled). Learned how to laugh. Grew six teeth. Learned how to roll over, sit up, crawl, and walk! Went from gazing into beyond our faces to making funny faces and playing peek-a-boo and patty cake. Learned how to dance. Went from barely drinking 3 ounces to downing seven and eating more on top of that. Learned how to communicate and understand when mommy and daddy are talking to you.
Congratulations! What a year of accomplishments. Daddy and I have loved watching every new discovery and helping you learn as much as you can. We love you so much and can't wait (okay, never mind...we can wait, slow down. Take your time.) to spend as many years with you as possible. You are a beautiful Daughter of our Father in Heaven and we feel so privileged to have you in our home. Thank you for your smiles and giggles and love.
love,
Mom and Dad
his/her face! I wish we would have taken a big group picture with everyone that was there...
Cousins Tyler (9 yrs) and Isaac (2 yrs.) and part of Jordan (11 yrs.), Chris, Zoey, and Kate's (6yrs.) feet talking and playing.
Lydia LOVES stuffed animals. Certain ones in particular (for example: the one pictured here....)

Her beautiful little cake that took me, who completely lacks cake decorating skills, way too long!

She grabbed a hand full and then
flung it all over! She started realizing
that she had sticky stuff all over
her hands and didn't like it too well.
Chris thought it would be funny to put some frosting on Lydia's nose...she hated it!
Just sharin some cake with Daddy.
Opening and playing with her fun birthday gifts! Thank you everyone; she loves them all!
