Wonderful Day of Thanks!

We hosted Thanksgiving dinner this year! I was really nervous about having everyone here in my little home. Despite having dinner an hour later than planned....it was great! We had the place packed with kids and adults and we just had a ball! We all got together after dinner and played a good game of Guesstures and had yummy yummy pies (of which I am still enjoying...) The kids were great. The food was great! The weather was great! It was simply a lot of fun!

The majority of the clan gathered in our front room, watching "Up", waiting for the turkey to finish.

The kitchen was full of wonderful scents and yummy food!

Lydia's first Thanksgiving dinner! She even had some turkey baby food.

Our cute little house with Christmas lights on it! We're not quite finished....

Our first turkey! It was Beautiful! yum yum!

Kids' Table.

Dinner time!! Yumm!!!

Just love this picture. Isaac, admiring our tree...maybe... :)

Picture Perfect! From the outside looking in.

I had a last minute idea of making a quilt and having everyone write something that they were thankful for on it and then we could all help tie it together and then we could donate it to the Children's hospital or a homeless shelter. I was hoping it could be the start of a tradition, but I should think of these things further in advance...because I was still working on it when everyone showed up. And then it was hard to get people to write on it and then I wasn't bold enough to set it up and ask people to help tie it real quickly. However, it is a very cute blanket, in my opinion. I finished tying it the next morning with some help from my niece Sydney! Thanks Sydney! and now maybe we'll donate it, but maybe we'll just wait for next year and try again...

Lydia just got over her spout of the runs just to come down with a pretty horrible cough! Poor thing. Not sure how she keeps getting sick.... :( She had somewhat of a rough time going to bed on Thanksgiving. But the next morning she was bouncing off the walls with joy! Here is a little video that I tried to get of her dancing. She was dancing so cute, but some of the chaos and all the people there was a little distracting. And then after the song was over and her "performance" was finished she started clapping. It was adorable. This girl LOVES to dance!
