Life's Little Laughs

I am in a Physics Laboratory class this semester and this first part of the semester has been focused on electricity and electromagnets, etc.

I have often wondered how water is used to make electricity. I never understood the process. This week in lab we conducted some experiments that I realized might be applicable to hydroelectricity. So I asked the teacher if this was how dams worked and he proceeded to explain that it was. I continued to ask questions so that I clearly understood how it all worked and as it clicked I exclaimed, "Oooohhh! That is so cool. I could never figure out how that whole DAM thing worked." I realized what I had said and turned bright red as the teacher and the whole class had quite the laugh at my exclamation!
