I ran in my first 10k Monday morning. I have not trained or anything so I was a little nervous about just up and running 6.7 miles straight. I finished strong though and I felt great that I did it. My knee was a little bit swollen from a little jog that Chris and I took with Lydia on Saturday so that made it somewhat difficult, but I'm just glad that it had recovered enough that I could even run Monday morning. My time was slow, but I'm proud to say I finished in 1 hour and just under 4 minutes.
My number was so close to the date of our Independence! I thought that was pretty neat. Too bad the 6 and 7 weren't switched.
I was rather disappointed that Chris wasn't there at the finish line for me. I was expecting him to be there, but turns out he staked out a spot for us to watch the parade instead. Lydia was so cute during the parade. I loved watching her facial expressions. She'd dance when the marching bands came by and she would wave to the County, Dairy, and Rodeo Princesses. It was fun. The pictures above are of her munchin on a rice cake. She sat there with the rice cake in her mouth like this for probably about five-ten minutes before she finally decided to eat it, we were laughing.

After the parade we took our lunch to the duck pond at BYU and ate and relaxed and fed the ducks. They even caught a turtle over there and all the kids thought it was cool that they got to touch it.

Lydia thought that Kate was the coolest. She would take her hand and walk with her all over the park. It was really very cute to watch them walking all over together.
Chris took all of the kids on an Imagination Expedition. They loved it! They just walked around the park making up different things on their journey. Kate has quite the imagination and thrived on the activity, whereas Isaac could not imagine a thing! He just enjoyed exploring with us. It was hilarious. Kate would say something like, "Oh lets reach that river over there and fill our containers with water!" (of course there was no river) or "Oh look at that fort over there! We must hurry there for safety!" and Isaac would just say, "What river? Where? What?" Kate would imagine a dark spot on the ground to be a wishing well and so on, and Isaac just kept looking at her like she was crazy, he couldn't see what she could. Then all of a sudden we crossed a light pole and Isaac, apparently trying to join in on the imagination said, "Oh! Look! Look at this pole!" Good job Isaac. haha
Taking a break on their adventure.
The mother duck that almost attacked us because we didn't realize how close we were to her and her nest.
