Our $150 Trip to PROVO

First of all, I have to admit that I have taken quite a silly interest in this year's America's Got Talent. I find myself enjoying the dramatized stories of each contestant and watching as they become a "star". Since we have moved, we do not receive television any more and so Chris and I have resorted to Hulu for television indulgences such as America's Got Talent, although I will say that Chris watches only because I insist upon it. Any how, I decided that it would be fun to travel up to Provo and watch the final performances of America's Got Talent with Chris's sister who had told me that she was watching it. Simple feat, right? I mean Provo is only ten/fifteen minutes away....not much in gas, no spending money, we were just going to enjoy an evening with the girls.
When I arrived, I discovered that when Kayla said that she was watching it, she was watching it online. And we discovered that it was not even coming on TV that night due to the premier of Biggest Loser. We enjoyed ourselves none the less. Chris even stopped by and surprised me while he was on a little break at work. The time came to go pick Chris up from work and I told Kayla to come have a look at Gonzo because Chris cleaned it all out and it looked so nice. Accompanied by Kayla, I traveled down the three flights of stairs with my little Lydia to the parking lot, where upon my surprise could not find my car! I knew right where I had parked it and it was most definitely not there any more. Considering the fact that I had completely gone mad, we looked around the parking lot, still no Gonzo. I started to wonder what crazy maniac would want to steal Gonzo? Out of all the cars in the parking lot, they wanted the 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity (a.k.a. Big Faded Baby Blue Boat Car!)? I asked Kayla if she thought it could have been towed. She assured me that they don't start towing until Midnight. Well where was it then? I really started to worry. Kayla decided to call the towing company just in case. Well, well, well, sure enough. My car had been towed! This was a first for me. Kayla agreed to take me to its sad new station (a junky old junk yard at 10:30 at night!). After much effort (including the whole batting our eyes and puckering our lips, etc....jk) to persuade the not-so-gentleman at the Junky old Junk yard to waive this one for us, we were lucky that my mother-in-law lent us some money, paid the darn $122 fee, and hustled out! Only we didn't get very far. The diaper bag, which we thought was tucked safely in Kayla's car, contained my keys, tucked safely inside of it. But the diaper bag was not tucked safely in Kayla's car. Turns out that while we stood in the parking lot realizing Gonzo's whereabouts, the diaper bag was set down and not transferred into Kayla's car. We told the not-so-gentleman at the Junky old Junk Yard at 10:50 at night that we were going to have to come back. Pulling into the parking lot where this whole mess started, we saw the diaper bag, sitting right there in the middle of it, surprisingly safe....lucky. Kayla then so kindly took me to pick up a not very happy Chris from work. But as he got into the back seat with his sweet little girl (who had been a perfect little thing throughout this whole ordeal) he couldn't help but not be angry about our evening. Back to the Junky old Junk Yard we went and finally retrieved our car and traveled home safely. That was a nice $150 trip to Provo Chris said.

oh man i hate tow companies. our our car got stolen when we lived in Florida and we had to pay a rediculous amount too. the sign where we parked, the letters that read, "tow away zone" were scratched out so we didnt know.so gay. we tried to fight it to a cop, but the nice cop couldnt do anything unfortunately.
