Getting Ready

We are just waiting for our baby to come and getting everything ready for her.

February 7th the Deseret Village had a little celebration/shower for me and the wee one. We all had a great time. The villagers were all so sweet and generous in getting gifts for me and the baby. Amanda Moulton did a great job preparing the shower and we played the guess the poopy diaper game. Thank you all so much for coming and for your gifts, they certainly help us feel prepared and ready for our baby.

February 5th Bobi Sue Stevens organized a baby shower for me! It was so nice. We enjoyed visiting with some friends and played guess the baby items in the bag. It was great and again, we received some much needed things that certainly help us get prepared and ready our home for that new little baby. Thank you so much for coming and supporting me and our family!

January 31st Chris's sister organized a baby shower for me and my tummy baby! :) It was so fun. We played lots of fun games including, guess the poopy diaper, guess my tummy size, unscramble baby words, and memorize the tray. It was lots of fun and we thank everyone who worked so hard to prepare and who came to support us. We received many fun gifts for our little one. Thank you all so much, we feel much more prepared.

Putting the crib together:

Getting the room put together...for the most part any way:

We still are working on painting the rocking chair, and the changing table. And hang a few things up, but for the most part, here's her little room!

Getting clothes washed and hung:

Generous gifts from friends and family (not all pictured):

That transformer is not a toy for a baby I know, but Chris just insists that it looks so cute with a little pink bow on it that it should stay in her room for decoration!

The stroller (the carseat is actually in our car!):

The cradle is in our room ready for her first little while at home:

We still don't feel ready, but I'm sure that we are as ready as we will ever be. It is somewhat scary thinking that within a few weeks, days even, we are going to have a daughter! And yet we know that it is right and that our lives will be blessed through this little baby. I cannot even contain my excitement and anxiety for these next couple of weeks. It will be very different not having her with me every where I go and every minute of the day. It will be strange not to feel her small movements and hiccups inside of me. But it will be so rewarding to hold her in my arms and to watch as her father holds her in his arms! I am so excited to see her little face and to hold her little hand. As close as she is to me now, it is so funny that she still feels so far away. I can feel her, but I can't touch her. I know that she will come on her own time and when she is ready, but we certainly are excited and anxious to meet her.

So, cute stuff! Also, I noticed you have the little rings. Easton got the same ones, and for a while he didn't like playing with them at all, but now he loves them! So keep those handy in a few months! They change so quickly, enjoy every minute! Even when you're tired because you haven't slept really well for months, enjoy it, because in no time she won't be your little baby anymore and you'll be wishing you could wake up in the night and cuddle with her! :) Congratulations! It's the best thing even and just continues to get better!

Brindy, I am so excited for you! I am also so anxious to see my new little niece. You and Chris will be a great team! Garrett loved the transformer idea and Hannah just thought that was so silly! And of coarse Natalie laughed too because Hannah did. We wish you the best of luck and can't wait to see you and your new baby GIRL!
