Pioneer Day

After going on the Trek, Pioneer Day had a fresh new meaning for both Chris and I. We had the opportunity to celebrate it with Chris's sister in Hinckley, UT. It was very fun.

Last Tuesday we went to the Rodeo here in Spanish Fork and it was Great. We took the villagers and they all had a great time as soon as they were settled in their seats...which was quite tricky I might add. Climbing up bleechers with 8 girls with disabilities, three being terrified of heights was really pretty challenging. It was very entertaining though...the rodeo I mean. I loved it, except we forgot our camera at that rodeo and so we didn't get any pictures.

The 24th we started...well I started off with a 2 mile run. I got a much better time on this one than I did on my last one so I was pretty happy. Kim, Chris's sister, Kaylee, her daughter, and I all went on this walk/run. It was really fun. It was early in the morning so it was still cool. We got t-shirts too! Woo hoo!

So then we went home and showered and watched the parade. It was a cute little parade and they threw TONS of candy! Another Woo hoo!

After the parade there were fun and games over at the park and entertainment. After playin around there we went home for some grub and then back over to the park to watch the talent show..in which Kaylee would be singing and dancing! She did a GREAT job. It was fun to cheer her on, especially because she dedicated one of her songs to me! :) What a sweet girl.

Then we took naps! Ahhhh....I love naps! I didn't always, but lately it seems as though naps are wonderful!

Then we got ready to go to the Rodeo! A third Woo Hoo! It was a blast. We got their famous hamburgers which were really yummy and watched as kids tried to ride calves and sheep and chase calves with money taped all over them, men got bucked onto their rears and girls race around some barrels on horseback.

(All the youngins run in through the fences to join in the Money Race, Lining up, Chasing "hording" the rich calves!)

(Watch them as the run in one huge crowd after the calves. It was pretty funny!)

Afterward we had a family dance in the street and then headed home. What a fun day!
