Our Fourth of July Celebration

Chris was so excited on Monday night when he got home because he brought with him a big pack of Fireworks! He could not wait to light them. It was kinda cute. So we had our own little firework show with the Villagers.

It was so funny, Chris had a hard time lighting one of them because the wind was blowing. He finally got it lit, but it blew out before it could send the sparks a flyin'! He would not give up on the thing. He poured gasoline on it and tried to extend the wick and tried to drop the match and leave it on it. The gasoline is what finally worked. He lit it and just left it. It was burning for quite a while and we all had given up on it and were actually getting ready to go inside when all of a sudden it started shootin up sparkles and stuff, it was so funny! We all laughed and clapped out our grand finale!
I wish this was a video of that but it's not...it's just a video from our night.

I love your fire works but I just want you to know that we really missed you here in DC. It just wasn't the same without you. We didn't really want to go but its TRADITION and so we went pulling the green cart stack high with coolers, chairs, tarps, blankets...(you know the routine) It actually was a pretty nice day, a little rainy, but not sooo hot. I could hear Carly Sue laughing and it made me laugh. You are doing such a great service for the villagers..I'm sure they love you and so do weeeeeeeeee!!
