This is a tribute/reminisce of my grandpa. My Grandpa Stoker was such a good man and I have so many fond memories as a child with him. I'm just going to list some here so that I will remember some of them.
- His silly little songs that he used to sing on the farm. I don't remember him when he still lived on his farm, but I know that he loved it and I loved to hear the songs that he used to sing while he worked.
- Hearing his stories of his cows, dogs, and tractors.
- He knew that Heavenly Father lived and he worked to serve Heavenly Father every day.
- He served three missions with my grandma, his sweetheart. Nauvoo, Illinois, Barbados, West Indies, and Palmyra, New York.
- One time we spent Christmas with them and we all just loved his cow pajamas that included a cap with a cow bell on the point! It was so funny.
- I used to ask him to yodel for us all the time. I just loved that he could do that.
- He had little contraptions all throughout his house...things that he had invented or jerry rigged.
- I remember watching him pour a bowl of milk and then tear up a piece of bread and add it to the milk and eat it. I thought that was so strange!
- He used peel oranges all in one big piece.
- I loved watching him play marbles with the boys. I never could compete with them, but I'd try on occasion. He was the champion though.
- I loved the Big family camp outs with everyone.
- He worked in a vineyard and I remember going to help him out there sometimes.
- He always had a shoe horn.
- I loved the painting that hung in their bathroom in their home in Layton. He painted it and I would admire it all the time. It's just a simple painting of nature, some trees and stuff.
- He gave the spotlight on me at my baptism.
- I used to love to watch Matlock because I thought that it looked just like my grandpa.
- Grandma and Grandpa took us to Disneyland and went camping on the ocean with us. That is a memory I will never forget. We had a blast!
