April Fool's!

We had a pretty fun time with the Villagers for April Fool's Day. The night before, after they had all gone to bed, we turned the furniture all on its side, flipped the coffee table upside down, put the dining room chairs on top of the table and unscrewed all of the light bulbs in the front room so that they wouldn't turn on in the morning. We went Running out of our Apartment on the morning of the 1st shouting, "HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S!" They all laughed and it was fun. Then they wanted to pay us the favor so when we went to get in the van to take them to work, they all pretended like they were sleeping. We just played along with their little joke. They sure thought they were clever. It was fun.
That night we had quite the adventure as well! The girls all go to institute on Tuesday nights at the High School. Brindy usually takes them and then goes to the gym for that hour that they are in institute, and Chris is at work. This week, Chris took off work so that he could catch up on some homework and decided to come with Brindy to the gym. We went and had a great workout...then we went out to the van to pick up the girls from institute and it wouldn't start! We prayed and then tried for about 15 minutes until we finally decided that it wasn't going to start. So....we started off running...it's about 3-5 miles from the gym to the high school. Then Brindy's prayer was finally answered....when she remembered that the stake house was only a block away, and the stake presidency does temple recommend interviews every tuesday night, so someone would be there. So we redirected and headed for the stake center. We got there and as we were trying to find a phone number to call the high school seminary building, a lady offered to just take us over there and help us out. What a blessing the church is! We love the fact that there are good people willing to help. We really feel like we were an answer to her prayers also because the women that we work with really touched her heart that night, you could tell and giving her an opportunity to serve seemed as though it was something that she needed at the time. She could only fit some of us so Chris and Anita, one of the villagers stayed at the Seminary Building, and the kind woman took the rest of the girls and Brindy home. When we got home, Brindy helped everyone inside quickly so she could rush back to get Chris and Anita, but it was so dark inside, we tried turning on the lights but they wouldn't work! Then Brindy realized, that her and Chris's April Fool's Joke turned out to be quite the joke! She ran through the room screwing back in the six light bulbs in that room. It was quite the night...needless to say, they all made it home safely and we got the van back after a week of repairs.
